Preschool Graduation
Erickell and Neicell with their bestest buddies from school. I can't believe they are moving on to Kindergarten. Neicell will be going to small group kindergarten where ever that may be (another crisis story in the making) and Erickell will start at our local Sego Lily. They are both so excited. I am a little apprehensive because my sweet Neicell will be alone without her incredible little big sister to watch out for her. I know Neicell needs to be on her own but it is hard to let go. My dear Erickell is so old for her age and is the biggest most responsible 5 year old alive. Erickell is my life saver and I love her to death. I love them both so much it is sad to see them grow up and need me less and less. For the first time we have started letting them go independantly to friends homes in the neighborhood. I know, a little overprotective, but life isn't like it was when we were kids. It is hard to believe how old they are. It is a reminder to me each day to live as the last and never let your children go without hearing you love them to death and want to kiss their faces off. Soon our children wont be under our wings and in grasp anymore.
Mother's Day 2008
I said a Mother's Day prayer for you
to thank the Lord above
for blessing me with a lifetime
of your tenderhearted love.
I thanked God for the caring
I thanked God for the caring
you've shown me through the years,
for the closeness we've enjoyed
in time of laughter and of tears.
And so, I thank you from the heart
And so, I thank you from the heart
for all you've done for me
and I bless the Lord for giving me
the best mother there could be!
***I am so blessed to have the most amazing Mother of all. I pray that some day my children look to me as I look to my mother in awe and admiration. I thank the Lord daily for giving me the opportunity and trust to raise these precious children. My calling, as a mother, is the best and most rewarding job I will ever have. I love you girls and Mom.
Spring 08
Eric had a conference in sunny St. George so we decided to make a small family vaca out of it. We spent 2 days in Mesquite gambling and going to the bars. We saw Nims Island, which was darling. By the way, I was kidding about the gambling and bar hopping. We then traveled to Zions and hiked around. The girls favorite part was going through the amazing tunnel. I am afraid my little Neicell isn't the hiker her mother is. She may just be my couch potato. The next 4 days we spent in St. George sitting by the pool and shopping until..... Erickell woke up one morning at 1230 AM and puked every half an hour to hour all night and into the next day. I was glad it wasn't in my house but it sure makes for a long day hanging out in a hotel room. I was ready to get home and have our space after that. I really miss St. George and tell Eric all the time we need to move. Enjoy the pics
Another Scary Seizure Day
On Monday Neicell had another seizure. This one is up there with the scariest experiences in my life. She came into our room that morning at 3 am and asked to sleep with me. Of course I grabbed her and put her in bed with me. Eric woke up at 6 am and said she was breathing really weird. Yep, she sure was, and in a full seizure. After the initial seizure she wouldn't respond; her right side of her body was paralyzed and she couldn't talk. We would ask her to say "Mommy or Daddy" she would open her mouth to speak but nothing would come out. She knew what was going on, I can feel that. She cried and cried. It took about another 30-40 minutes for her to finally be able to speak and walk. These seizures are killing my nerves and patience. I live in fear of another coming and her possibly not coming out of it. I love her so much and hate for her to go through such horrible experiences. It is hard to see your children have problems it truely tears at your heart strings. After 2 days trying to get a hold of her Neurologist the conclusion is to increase her meds. I feel that is their answer to everything. Which in turn increasing her meds takes her further away from me. I feel her personality and her true self is being masked by this medication and I hate it. I can see every time we increase her medication her eyes get different and her facial expressions change. I pray that some day these can end and we can have our sweet Neicell back.
Scary Seizure Day
Our family went to the Jones Sinter Klaus Christmas party anticipating a fun enjoyable night. Until.... Neicell had just fallen asleep on my lap when Eric said she is acting weird. Sure enough, she was seizing and we were off. We scooped her up and drove towards the hospital by the time we reached my office she had stopped and we decided to run her in to one of the pediatricians that was on call for the night. Long story short she is doing great and hopefully next week we should have more answers from her neurologist. She hasn't had a seizure for 20 months and this one was so mild compared to that one. She wasn't blue this time and it lasted 10-15 min. compared to 1 hour with a life flight in the mix. We are so grateful we have such wonderful supportive family close and the wonderful doctors I work for. Neicell is so special and sweet it breaks my heart to see her go through these trials. Her twin is also so incredibly caring for her other half.
